    • Levan,
Thanks for coming over, you really need to try this recipe and do let me know how it turns out for you! But – make sure you’re ready for the smoking peppers as they char! I highly recommend the outdoor grill for that step!

    • Ah Peter, that roasting definitely made this salsa over the top flavor-full! I’ll do it again this way in a heartbeat! (outdoor grill tho)

  1. Your post hits close to home. I’ve had to freeze my butt off more than once airing the house out after a cooking misadventure!

This salsa looks fantastic. I’ve made homemade salsa a couple times and have been dissapointed with the results, but I’ve never tried roasting veggies first. Maybe that’s what I’ve been missing. And I would totally love to be eating that nacho boat right now. It looks so good!

    • Tracy, I’m pretty sure most of us have smoked out the kitchen and then opened windows with complete disregard to outside temps! It’s all part of the process – trying new recipes, new techniques and learning when to step back from the stove!

Try roasting your veggies, I’m sure you’ll notice a difference, no matter which recipe you use for your salsa.

    • Sue,
Seriously, you know how hard it was to not eat that bowl of roasted veggies?! My husband was drooling over that and asking if he could have ‘just one?’ Thankfully, I was ready to move into the blender phase of the recipe quickly, or there would have been nothing to make salsa with!

And yeah, it’s good just eaten from the bowl with a spoon. Who needs chips!

    • April,
It was all “fun and games” til my husband came in and thought I was killing the birds (parrots and finches) lol I’d already opened the kitchen window and he ran around looking for the proper one to open that would create enough draught to pull the smoke out without freezing the birds. Meanwhile, Baby was in the other room asking “What’s going on?”
