Deluxe BLT Sandwich

Taking traditional sandwiches to a whole new level, this deluxe BLT adds Swiss Cheese and grilled onions. You're going to want a second serving!

Ingredients

  • 1 Croissant sliced
  • 1 TB Mayonnaise
  • 1 slice Swiss Cheese
  • 2 slices Bacon
  • 1 TB Caramelized Onions
  • 1 leaf Lettuce
  • 1 slice Tomato

Instructions

Cook Bacon

  1. Preheat oven and rimmed baking pan to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Place bacon strips on baking sheet.

  3. Cook at 400 degrees until reaching desired crispness (10-20 minutes)

  4. Drain bacon slices on paper towels.

Caramelize Onions

  1. Slice onion in thin slices.

  2. Toss slices with olive oil.

  3. Cook in 400 degree oven alongside bacon.

Prep Sandwich Toppings

  1. Wash and tear lettuce leaves from head of lettuce.

  2. Wash and slice tomato into thin slices (1/4 inch).

  3. Slices Swiss Cheese.

  4. Slice croissant in half.

Assemble Deluxe BLT Sandwich

  1. Place croissant on plate, open with cut halves facing up.

  2. Spread mayonnaise on both halves of croissant.

  3. Place Swiss Cheese slices on bottom half of sandwich.

  4. Place bacon on top of Swiss Cheese.

  5. Add caramelized onions on top of bacon.

  6. Place lettuce on top half of croissant.

  7. Add tomato slice on top of bacon and onions.

  8. Close sandwich by placing croissant half with lettuce on top of sandwich.

Recipe Notes

You may find it helpful to secure Deluxe BLT Sandwich with long toothpicks or skewers.

If you are not a mayonnaise fan, substitute your favorite topping: Salad dressing, mustard, barbecue sauce.
